The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has unveiled the statue built in honor of visiting Liberian president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

Although, while appreciating the gesture of the state governor, the Liberian president said she has never received such an honor.

According to her, she has a statue in her alma mater, Harvard University, but the size of the statue cannot be compared to the one built by the Rochas Okorocha administration.

Shortly after unveiling the statue of the Liberian President, Rochas Okorocha was asked by a journalist why he is building statues and he replied:

“To immortalize people so our children yet unborn can read a piece of them. History is dying in Africa. We must keep history alive. In the next 100 years to come, most of us will not be here but this will stand for children to read stories and mold their character. If leaders are not mortalized, there will not be history for children yet unborn’.

MISPLACED PRIORITY. HISTORY IS IMPORTANT. BUT LET US LEARN TO SPEND MONEY ON IMPORTANT ISSUES. WHEN HUNGER HAVE LEFT THE LAND, THEN WE CAN NOW SPEND MONEY ON THINGS LIKE THIS. NOT THIS TIME AT ALL. MANY OF OUR LEADERS ARE DEMONIC IN NATURE. WHAT IF SOMETHING DESTROY THIS STATUES OVERNIGHT? MILLIONS OF NAIRA WASTED. WHY CAN'T U USE THIS MONEY ON THE YOUTH THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY. THATS HISTORY TOO. MAY GOD HELP US!

History ko, historian ini. Mr low iq criminal gov. Rochas. History is for, people with notable achievements and not criminals or those who breed racial hatred among their kind. So stop wasting resources because you are not even leaving a mark with your stupidity. Go and pay workers and pensioners and you could be remembered a little for not being a complete ignorant nincompoop.

I really think something is wrong with this man. For Heaven's sake, does he know what are the priorities of Imo State and Imolites? He could have written books, built a museum or a library. And what makes him believe that the next governor after him would keep those statues? Anyway, those statues must be pulled down soon as this crazy man leaves the office.

I forgot to add this: What does the Anti-corruption and Transparent Champion - PMB, say about all the Okoroocha's careless spending, in a state that owes workers many months of salary?

Lost priority, you will be remembered for starving workers and owing pensioners.. So wicked, very wicked. If common sense doesn't tell you to pay workers and pensioners not minding the billions of dollars you stashed in foreign accounts.  You shall get old too. Artur zerinbe the great, where is he today? Just wait.

This is a very dumb answer to show that he has no good intention for the people that gave him their mandate(or he stole their mandate). There is no statue of Lord Lugard in my state,no statue of Kenneth Kaunda,no statue of Alexander the Great,no statue of any ceaser, but we all know about those great guys. Statues dont keep your history alive, your good or great deeds WILL. FOOLISH Guvnor

So this is the reason, I am highly disappointed in the governor, in this time there is a lot we can do to transform our lives with technology and science, and this has proven repeated that our leaders do not have what it takes for the global advancement.

Senseless and confused governor, busy with raising visitor's statues while he has unpaid salaries. What a failure he is.
