A mild drama occurred after a middle-aged lady’s goods got seized by a team of enforcement officers, led by Cross River State Commissioner for Environment.

The lady reportedly jumped under a trailer and begged  Cross River State Commissioner for Environment to crush, after he stormed the area to confisticate items sold by petty traders infront of Oando Filling Station.

Facebook user, George Odok, who reported the incident wrote;

Kill me after you have destroyed my business, woman who enters under a trailer to be crushed tells Cross River State Commissioner for Environment.

A mild drama happened today in Calabar in front of the Oando filling station when the Cross River State Commissioner for Environment led a team of enforcement officers to confisticate items sold by petty traders infront of the filling station.

Residents in Calabar, who ply the Calabar highway are aware of this petty traders who usually stand infornt of the filling stations to sell fruits and other small scale items.

When the commissioner and his men seized the goods from the women and dump them inside the trailer to drive away, this woman under this trailer went beneath the trailer and asked the driver to crush him after her N5,000 business had been taken away from her.

Feelers have it that the state government had earlier asked petty food and fruits vendors along the carnival routes to evacuate their businesses for free flow of movement and neatness, while some areas had been used in planting green grasses to beautify the city.

What becomes of this woman and others whose small scale businesses had been taken?

God help this country......, If u want them to leave the street it's quite understandable. But first of all provide a good alternative, many of these people are really suffering but still try to do this small tins to survive nd most of them have families to feed, nd u are still making life worst for them, wat a pity

MY HUMBLE ADVICE = THE CARNIVAL IS A VERY COLORFUL AND BEAUTIFUL EVENT THAT BRINGS TOURISTS AND VISITORS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD AND GENERATE INCOME FOR THE STATE, MEANWHILE THE SUCCESS OF IT LIES IN THE SURVIVAL OF THIS PETTY TRADDERS. INSTEAD OF CONSIFICATING THIER GOODS THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD MAKE A UNIFORM IN LINE WITH THE CARNIVAL COLORS AND MANDATE THEM TO ALWAYS WEAR THEM DURING THE CARNIVAL. THIS WILL NOT ONLY MAKE THE SEASON MORE COLORFUL BUT ALSO PUT SMILES ON THEIR FACES. PLS DO TAKE CARE OF THE POOR AS GOD IS WATCHING.....
