The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the new national chairman of the party.
Oshiomole came into the convention as the overwhelming favourite to replace outgoing chairman Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, as he reportedly had the support of President Muhammadu Buhari and that of the party’s national leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The announcement was made by the Chairman of the national convention committee, Governor Abubakar Baduru Mohammed of Jigawa State during the national convention currently holding at the Eagles Square in Abuja.
Speaking ahead of the convention, Oshiomole had promised to bring about the collapse of the Peoples Democratic Party if elected chairman.
His immediate task will be to bring warring factions of the party together, particularly the threat of withdrawal of the nPDP faction of Senate President Bukola Saraki and House Speaker Yakubu Dogara.
