Singer Seun Kuti said that he will no longer buy expensive clothes for his children as they outgrow them quickly, which is a waste of money.

Quote
"I remember this day very vividly. Never buying expensive clothes for my kids. Can’t tell u how much I bought that effing dress she’s wearing. These brands are sucking the life out of black people!! The attachment to the ‘brand’ and ‘branding’ still has the same effect as slavery trust me. Gucci gang naaaah more like Gucci’s slave. Well back to my personal rant. Now I asked @chefyeide for it and she says. Haba she is four now she can’t fit in it anymore, whaaaaaaat really? For that price this dress should grow with @adarakuti if that’s not the case GET THE SAX.

let's face the fact, teach children skills for life, teach them how to value their natural self, you don't need shining and expensive clothes to feel good

instead of buying expensive things teach the child how to make clothes for fun, sing for fun, make cars for fun.

Here  in europe  i buy from  mothers with older kids the clothes  her kidz have overgrown.  Then stock  extra  in my daughters  acct  incase tomorrow  changes.  The mothers in Africa should  learn and form a team  of mother to mother.  Just hope snobism  and fake life will let them see reality

about children, instead of lavish gifts, you can teach your son that like gadgets, how to make a computer, how to make electronic systems, you can teach your daughter that like Shakara, how to design, how to make clothes, shoes, bags, how to be an entrepreneur, you son that like cars, teach them how to make cars, how to maintain it, how to understand how to assemble it, you that like wine, teach them how to make wine.
If they like food, teach them how to make different recipes, local and international.

 Little drops make an ocean.
