Police Receives 294,851 Applications In Ongoing Recruitment Of 10,000 Constables

The Police Service Commission (PSC) yesterday said it received a total of 294,851 applications for recruitment into the Police Force. This is in spite of the fact that the ongoing recruitment exercise is for only 10,000 constables. Head of Press and Public Relations of the commission, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, in a statement, said the entries were made between November 30, 2018, when the portal opened, and yesterday.

“The portal for the recruitment of 10,000 Nigerians into the Nigeria Police Force as Constables by the Police Service Commission will be officially closed on Friday, January 11, 2019,” Ani said. He said entries would close by 12 midnight of today, in compliance with the Federal Character Commission’s requirement, that advertisements for recruitment into ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of government must last six weeks. Ani said:

“As at 12:30p.m. on Wednesday, 10th January, 294,851 applications have been received. Niger State maintained the lead in the number of applications received from each of the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory with 17,790 applicants. Bayelsa State kept its last position with 1,797 applications. “Niger State is followed by Kano with 16,800 and Katsina, 16,666. Lagos State is second from the rear with 1,720 applications followed by Ebonyi State with 2,218. “Male applicants continued to dominate the exercise with 255,189 applications with females trailing with only 39,662 applicants.”

exactly u said it all, my nephew who was once a policeman in abuja was suspended bcos he had a clash with his oga at the top he has since dump police work for another but this time around a better one he runs his own fashion home and is paying well for him but the only bad attitude he has is that he likes money more than every other thing in this world no amount of money u give him that will satisfy him that's the bad attitude and the only certificate he gain from the police force.

People of Nigeria are always abusing Nigerian police, yet when they hear about a job opening from the force they will just run gburu-gburu and apply.You think we don't know that you're doing it for monthly pay and chwa-chwa money?What fun do you have going for a job you don't have passion for?
