A woman notorious for serially robbing banks has been apprehended by security operatives after using stolen cash to fund her face surgery. A transgender convicted bank robber was arrested in connection to another heist after apparently using the stolen cash to fund surgery for a new face, TheSun Uk has reported.
The woman, aptly named Iconic Facce, first made headlines in 2008 when she allegedly plotted to rob a string of Alabama banks in USA. She wanted to use the loot to finance a gender reassignment operation, according to AL.com.
Facce was then suspected of robbing a Bacorp South bank in Gulfport, Mississippi on March 22.
She was detained on Saturday at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport after returning from Mexico – where it appeared she had some work done.
Her mugshot shows what appears to be a healing nose job wrapped in surgical tape.
The suspect is being held at Harris County Jail in Texas while she awaits extradition to Mississippi.
Facce was jailed in 2008 after she demanded a bank teller in Decatur, Alabama, give her at least $20,000 (£15,270).
She was sentenced to 51 months in prison.
