A father was allegedly axed to death by his own son after he stepped on his iPhone during a boozy house party. Leng Sao, 50, was reportedly attacked by his 23-year-old son Leng Huon after a night of drinking and playing loud music with friends at the family home.

Local police Captain Chuon Samnan said Huon dropped his iPhone on the ground just outside the house in  Prey Veng Province in Southern Cambodia. His father came out of his bedroom because he could not sleep and then stepped on the phone.

Huon is said to have shouted at his father, who in turn kicked his son in the back during the argument over the phone.

Samnang said:
Quote
“He then took the axe and hacked his father on the head, neck and chest, instantly killing him.”

Images show deep, bleeding cuts in Sao’s neck and chest reportedly caused by the axe.

Houn reportedly fled the scene but was later arrested and cops are said to have taken an axe from him. The authorities confirmed Houn had been accused of premeditated murder and he faces up to 15 years in prison if he is found guilty.

The investigation is ongoing. The model of the iPhone has not been reported.
