Sex Scandal: Bizman Fights Pastor In Church

For sleeping with his wife, a pastor has incurred the wrath of a businessman who stormed his church with a knife and disrupted the Sunday church service.

The businessman, Abdu Jubril, P.M.NEWS gathered, stormed Christ Temple International Ministry, 9, Olaniyi Street, Orerepo Area, Egbeda, Lagos, Nigeria and attacked Pastor Joseph Eloma, for allegedly sleeping with his wife, Loveth who abandoned her matrimonial home and three children and started living in the church.

The businessman’s action threw the church into confusion as members who had come to worship ran helter-skelter to save their lives.

The enraged businessman, it was learnt, was prvented from reaching the altar to stab the pastor but he succeeded in attacking his wife and tore her dress before he was overpowered by the ushers.

Some church members were said to have contacted the police from Idimu station who raced to the scene and arrested the attacker.

On interrogation, the businessman allegedly accused the pastor of being responsible for the breakdown of his marriage, adding that since his wife started going to the church, her behaviour changed and she started sleeping with the pastor.

He was later arraigned before the Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court for threatening the lives of the pastor and his wife.

During the trial, the pastor testified that the woman at the centre of the crisis was a member of his church and came to him for counselling.

He alleged that the accused deserted his wife and children and was no longer providing food for them.

He added that all attempts to settle the rift between the couple by him failed and the woman abandoned him (businessman).

The pastor told the court that he was surprised that the businessman accused him of sleeping with his wife whereas he only attempted to settle their rift.

He revealed that the accused had been threatening him over the issue, until last Sunday when he came to the church during the service with a knife and tore his wife’s dress.

In her observation before adjourning the matter till 17 July, the magistrate, M.S. Solebo, said the pastor should have referred the matter to the welfare department of the state instead of assuming jurisdiction since the husband was not a member of his church.

He said the matter degenerated because the proper channel in law was not followed.
