Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended a suspected drug dealer who tried to export 3.6 kilograms of marijuana, commonly known as "Loud," concealed in 36 water flasks to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
In a statement released on Sunday, May 19, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi reported that the suspect, Emeka Nwadiaro, also known as "Mega," was arrested following the discovery of the illicit drugs at a logistics company in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The arrest took place in Onitsha, Anambra State, on Thursday, May 16, after NDLEA agents traced the illegal shipment back to Nwadiaro. Babafemi praised the agency's diligent work in uncovering and intercepting the drug consignment before it could leave the country.
This operation highlights NDLEA's ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and prevent the export of illegal substances from Nigeria.
