Reports on social media have indicated that operatives of the Special Anti-robbery squad, SARS in Delta state have allegedly killed a widow’s son on allegation he was a yahoo boy.
In the video, the widow and her neighbours could be seen wailing and crying for justice to prevail over the death of her son.
In recent times, extra-judicial killings by SARS operatives have been reported across the country, and nothing seems to be done about the situation as it continues without obvious check.
News made the rounds some few months back after some operatives who had earlier been incarcerated for killing unarmed suspects, were allegedly released from prison.
In a video that went viral at the time, the suspects had been rounded off by the officers after they allegedly robbed a man of his phones. But while taking them to the station, the officers decided to shoot them dead.
They were subsequently arrested on the order of the Police Commissioner in Lagos State, tried and remanded in prison. But months after the remand, a report surfaced on the internet they have been released from prison custody.
