HY'All. Am sure you're all in the know of the fact that some 'consortium' of 9nija business moguls are set to take over the ownership of embattled EPL club-Newcastle FC. The moguls prefer their identities hidden until an offer is accepted by divesting owner-Mike Ahley. The 9nija moguls through their frontman have already made a bid of 350 million Pounds Sterling! When you use a modest N200 to a pound as the exchange rate, you get a figure in the range of 70 Billion Naira!!! I bet , many African nations aint got anything of that sort as their annual budget.  And ofcourse, they gna be spending some more big cash during transfer windows and the likes..

It  does sound nice that something of that sort is coming out of Nija and many have been excited with the news. We expect that it should rub off positively on the sick state of our home Premier league. Some even say it's good for our image abroad. However, serious arguments have been raised against this move by people who believe that we are too poor as a people to for any of us to 'lavish' that much 'to entertain England'. Many homes can hardly afford to eat a basic diet per day and our infrastructures are in a sorry state. But don't people have the right to spend their 'hard earned' money as they wish any more? Talking about 'hard earned', how many 9nija millonaires actually made their monies free of looting or fraud....a case of spending our money on football while we suffer! 9nija Newcastle buy-in...to be or not to be? Lets hear what ya think!

me thinks if the bid is good why not?
it would amount to sentiment if we say the economy back home is sick and needs more of this money, remember this money is private money and government has over 60bUSD in foreign reserves.
we dont have to wait until the economy backhome is healthy before we take global opportunities.
like i said, if the business terms come out cool, why not!

MERSEYSIDE? I think Merseyside is the region where Everton and Liverpool resides... and I also understands well that NEWCASTLE resides in TYNESIDE! Now I think you had it wrong there..i'm sorry though Grin

Yesh some wealthy Nigerian consortium are trying to buy into Newcastle Football club, but they've not met with the asking price yet...let see... its going to be good though, but why can someone buy into ENYIMBA FC of ABA?
