Must they marry in that Church ? Mind you, The Church does not have the final say in marriage, but The Country's Law.

If  your friend is looking to be legally married...that is done at the registry. When he signs the certificate of marriage...he is married...pastor or no pastor...reverend father or not. He wants to marry or he wants a ceremony in the Catholic church? If he wants a ceremony in a Catholic church...he can find another reverend...remember...hmmmm....let me see how to phrase this...hmmm...remind your friend that the rev fathers aren't paid well!

my sincere prayer for all christians is that they come to the light of Islam and have peace in their lives.

Mubaji there are PEACE inside of a Christian life that knows the true and living God.

@Poster Not everyone that say Lord Lord shall enter into the Kingdom of God. Always remember that just has how there are fellowships that belongs to Jesus Christ there are ones that belongs to the devil. This is the reason we were told that we should always test the Spirit. Has for your friend if he find this to be unacceptable all he need to do is go marry somewhere else. I am sure that there are other churches that will gladly do if for them.
