Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has condemned the Senator representing Niger South, Muhammad Bima, for introducing a bill seeking to ban importation of generators in Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode described Bima as insane for seeking to jail those who sell and generator in Nigeria.

Bima had introduced the bill and it scaled through first reading on the floor of the senate, on Wednesday.

The bill, which is entitled ‘Generating Set (Prohibition/Ban) Bill, 2020,” also seeks to curb the menace of environmental (air) pollution and to facilitate the development of the power sector.

However, Fani-Kayode said the Senator should be tied and dropped in the darkest part of the Atlantic ocean.

In a tweet, the former Minister wrote: “The Senator that sponsored the Bill to ban generators in Nigeria & send those that sell or use them to jail must be insane.

“He ought to be tied up, placed in a straight jacket, put in a strong sack filled with weights and dropped in the deepest & darkest part of the Atlantic ocean.”

I think its a good bill so that there will be no different between the poor and the rich
Also, all our leaders including Aso Rock, NAAS can feel the pain of those who can not afford generator. Then, they will quickly find solution to power problem in Nigeria

Bima, your next bill will be to remove the vice president and replace him with Boko haram leader. Nigeria is a failed State.

IF SOMEONE HAVE TO TALK, CERTAINLY NOT FANI KAYODE BECAUSE HE HIMSELF IS USELESS IN THAT COUNTRY NIGERIA. HE TOOK PART IN LOOTING NATIONAL TREASURY AS A MINISTER. AS FOR THE GENERATORS, IT IS NOT A BAD IDEA BECAUSE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS NOT TAKNG THE ISSUE OF ELECTRICTY SERIOUS AT ALL.

You have a good point.
Could that also help to create employment for some people in Nigeria since SOLAR will be produce in Naija rather importing generators to boost other countries economy

This will even further widen the gap between the elite and the masses...people use solar inverter nowadays...majority of the masses can't afford this, but the elite can
