
The United States ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Beth Leonard, has disclosed that her country has spent over $32.8m in Nigeria in its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She also said the US has spent over $237m in its interventions on the African continent, while its global interventions had reached $32.4bn.
Leonard also disclosed that the US has spent $8bn in supporting Nigeria in the last 20 years, $5.2bn of which was invested in the health sector.

“A lot of assistance have been provided in the structures, systems and habits which turns out to be very directly transferable, relatable, usable during the COVID epidemic,” she said in a virtual conference on Tuesday.
