Cynthia Morgan was one of the promising young musical talents from Nigeria alongside Wizkid, Skales, Ice Prince, Burna Boy and many others at that time. Unfortunately, she has been unable to realize her potential to the fullest due to series of incidents that has now led her into depression and generally being in the shadow of herself. Cynthia Morgan granted an interview session last night where she revealed that she felt she had failed in her musical career (and life) after she failed to achieve certain goals that she set for herself before hitting the age of 30. Cynthia Morgan was signed to Psquare's record label - Northside Music Inc. where she produced some of her songs but unfortunately the record deal did not turn out as planned and ended up in a bitter legal battle between Jude Okoye of the record label and Cynthia Morgan as an artist. At the end of the legal case, Cynthia Morgan was N40M in debt to Jude Okoye and also lost her stage name "Cynthia Morgan", this means she cannot perform or benefit financially from the name of "Cynthia Morgan" (which is actually her birth name). The situation forced her to re-brand as "Madrina" a name that never connected with the fans and things went downhill pretty fast from there onwards - She is currently struggling with depression.

But her former manager, Joy Tongo has a very different view to what has happened to Cynthia Morgan. She reveals that Cynthia was the cause of her own downfall and she is currently carrying out a campaign to gain public sympathy and self pity, also alleging that Cynthia Morgan was owing her over 30,000 USD and owing Jude Okoye over N40 million. Meanwhile, Gistmania learnt that Peter Okoye has not been left out of the conversation and he revealed that he had offered Cynthia Morgan a very good contract when the Psquare split, but she was made to see him in a bad light and reject the contract - here is Peter of Psquare's comment:
As it stands, Cynthia Morgan is seeking a recoil back to how things were, it is very unlikely but we wish her all the best in that endeavour.
