Adeherself was accused of being a "picker" for a fraud syndicate in Lagos. She was improsioned for almost a month before finally granted bail by a Lagos court. One of the people who stood ins solidarity with Adeherself is popular BDC operator, Mompha. Mompha was also accused of money laundering and fraud by the EFCC, in a highly publicise case which later crumbled due to lack of evidence and allowed to go scot-free. Mompha has been a campaigner for others who have been accused of fraud by the EFCC since then. Adeherself has not pleaded guilty to the crime she is accused of, but for the sake of her growing brand, we hope it was all it was - a mere allegation.
