Lagos state governor, Sanwo-Olu travelled to Abuja to meet with president Buhari regarding the #ENDSARS protest movement. The Lagos state governor wrote:

Quote
I came back from Abuja with news that I believe will lead to concrete steps to #EndPoliceBrutality.

I met with the IGP. Starting from this week, a panel, comprising of citizens will be set up to look into all cases of abuse by the police around the country.

SARS officials have immediately been asked to leave the streets around the country following their disbandment and return to police headquarters for debriefing and psychological examination.

A deep look at their activities will commence. The work will be exhaustive; so prepare to submit your queries within the parameters they will share.

In Lagos, we have immediately set up a trust fund that will be managed by nominated members of the public and CSOs to compensate families that have lost loved ones to police brutality.

People like the wife of Mr Okechukwu Ilo who died in tragic circumstances will not be left out.

H.E Jide Sanwolu
Governor Lagos State.

This came after he travelled to Abuja to meet with the IGP of police and the president, Muhammadu Buhari. He proceeded to give them the demand so the #ENDSARS protesters, here are some of the photos below:

On his meeting with the IG of police, here is what Babajide Sanwo Olu wrote:

Quote
I had an intense engagement on my arrival in Abuja with the Inspector General of Police. Mohammed Adamu.

I relayed the grievances of the protesters to him. And presented him with their demands.
Accountability and rule of law was top on the agenda of my meeting with him.
Stringent laws are being put together as a guide towards the new Nigerian Police.

He gave me his commitment to look into all cases of abuses and human rights violations, and promised that all erring officers will be brought to book.

This is just the beginning of a mutually beneficial partnership between the Nigerian Police and citizens. We will not rest until there’s a total overhaul of all our security outfits.
