Popular highlife singer and songwriter, Adekunle Gold has lamented over the high cost of getting a COVID-19 test in Nigeria.

In a recent tweet, AG baby threw the question in the air on why COVID-19 test cost 50K in Nigeria.

Why is covid test 50k here?

The father of one however received thousands of reactions from his followers which showed they share the same sentiments.

“I was just thinking about this. How do you expect some people to carry their whole salary and just dump on test?,” a Twitter user wrote in reply to Adekunle Gold.

Another wrote, “I tire oo….I enter Dubai, na free for airport Paid 120AED to do the mandatory one at the hotel…

Na Naija own dey different…even unto poking the nose, nurses in foreign counties are gentle, naija go poke you as if you seized their chop money.”

The test in the UK is free in work places for employees or in the NHS that's like the hospitals if you're showing symptoms other than that if you need the test for travelling or other official use, you will   have to do the test privately and it costs about £150- £200 so it's not free here either.
