According to a Daily Trust report, an 18-seater bus plunged into the Owena River along Akure-Ondo road in Ondo State on Sunday.
The driver, who was heading to Akure, the state capital, lost control of the vehicle and it fell off the bridge into the river.
As of the time of filing this report, the number of passengers who lost their lives were unknown.
The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo State, Ahmed Hassan, told reporters that seven passengers, who were rescued, have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
It was learnt that one of the victims of the accident is the manager of OverlandAirways in Akure; his wedding is next Saturday, his wife to be was also on the bus, but she survived.
