Tragedy struck during the Sallah celebration at Kofar Shehu area of Maiduguri, Borno State on Tuesday when a teenager, Bello Muhammed, allegedly stabbed and killed his 14 year old brother, Muktar Muhammed during a misunderstanding over who will take possession of the skin of a ram that had been slaughtered for the Eid festival.
Borno State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Lawal Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident to our reporter yesterday, said a case of culpable homicide under section 221 of the penal code was received from the Dandal police station. According to him, the two brothers had a misunderstanding over who owns a ram skin and the elder brother stabbed his younger, who died on the spot.
ASP Abdullahi said Bello is on the run and is wanted by the police. He added that the police are making efforts to apprehend the suspect while the corpse of his younger brother has been deposited at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) for autopsy.
“The commissioner, Muhammed J. Abubakar has directed the anti-homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over investigation with immediate effect and the culprit when arrested will be assembled before a law court for prosecution,” the police spokesman also said.
Our correspondent gathered from a neighbour that trouble started when the younger brother clubbed his elder brother during a misunderstanding over the ram skin, and the elder brother in turn stabbed him on the chest and he died on the spot.

Celebration that should be of God bring sadness. When will people wise up and realized that we are no longer under the LAW. The Moses LAW is what drive us to do Sinful things. As Paul wrote before it was given there were only Disobedience but once it was given, it show us our SINFUL NATURE. Then we gravitate towards it because it is enticing to those who love it. Yes the Moses Law show us what SIN is and the Lord does it because He want us to LIVE BY FAITH. Faith is through Jesus Christ his son. So all these Muslim celebration should really be stop. But how will it that even after the death of Jesus Christ the JEW was still adamant as today to hold onto the Moses Law. You know why because it gives a LOT OF RICHES. Do you believe that it is only Muslim who are holding onto it? Even the churches using it but don't want to admit it. Sin is what creeping inside of our children at these celebrations because it is the time when the DEVIL IS RAMPANT. Jesus Christ and His Father is no way at these celebration because they are under the Law and the Law was divorced the day Jesus Christ rise from the Dead.
We are under FAITH start practicing it. FAITH, LOVE, PATIENCE AND HOPE. It is the Patience that is giving Humans problem lol lol

Anger, another kind of MADNESS..............look at what it has caused now.........Mad people dont think before they act..........that is why this guy was able to stab his brother, not thinking of the consequences...........now that the 5 mins madness is gone, he is now on the run.............may the little boy's soul rest in peace.....amen!
