According to a statement on Friday, to mark the occasion, the company, alongside more than 10 of its agents, had unveiled a major consumer promotion to reward and celebrate with consumers.
The promotion, which kicked off on December 1, features a road show incorporating Lagos, Benin, Owerri, Ibadan, Abuja, and will reward consumers in Nigeria, after every completed transaction, with a gift at participating agent locations.
The gifts, according to the company, include generators, television sets, phone recharge cards, mugs, towels, carrier bags, t-shirts, key rings, bottle openers and umbrellas.
“We expect over 200,000 rewards to be given during the period,” the company said.
Speaking about the anniversary, the Regional Vice- President for ECOWAS, Western Union, Aida Diarra said, “This promotion is to show our appreciation to our loyal consumers.”
‘In 2010 we have consistently pursued our consumer focus, for instance adding more agent locations and rolling out new security enhancing technology at select locations, to ensure that we are best positioned to meet and even exceed their needs and expectations.”
Western Union entered the Nigerian market in 1995, the first money transfer operator to enter at such an early stage. Since then the Company has retained its market position with a current network of 3,800 agent locations across the country.
