The governorship flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has donated a brand new Mercedes Benz to the former governor of the state, Rev. Jolly Nyame.
It was gathered that the car gift came a few hours after the former governor was released from the correctional centre.
The gesture, as noticed by our correspondent, has triggered divergent reactions among natives of the state on social media.
While some who saw it as a welcome development, applauded the guber candidate, who is the incumbent senator representing Taraba South, others felt that such a gesture at the moment is not necessary.
Rather than doling out such a gift, the money, they believed, would have gone a long way to put smiles on the faces of Tarabans, especially those from the senator’s constituency.
Nyame, who has been held behind the walls for offences ranging from misappropriation of public funds to embezzlement, regained his freedom on Monday alongside his counterpart from Plateau state.
Since regaining his freedom, his house in Maitama, Abuja, has been beehives of activities, as politicians have continued to troop in to welcome him.
It was gathered that his house in Jalingo, the state capital is, however, not different from that of Abuja as the residence, which has been deserted since he was incarcerated, has suddenly become a marketplace for political discussion.
