A man has been arrested for allegedly r3ping an 8-year-old girl in the Ijebu Ode area of Ogun state. The 84-year-old has been identified as Stephen Jack. The suspect was arrested after the father of the victim reported the incident at the Obalende divisional headquarters. The victim’s father was said to have questioned her daughter when he found her bleeding from her private part and she admitted to being s3xually assaulted by the perpetrator. Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement said preliminary investigation revealed that the 84-year-old man is a known paedophile in the area.
The Ogun Police spokesperson added that the victim has also been taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The statement reads: “Upon the report, the DPO Obalende division, SP Murphy Salami detailed his detectives to the scene, where the randy old man was apprehended.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the old man is a known paedophile in the area. The victim has been taken to the General Hospital Ijebu Ode for medical treatment.”
