The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, many supporters have staged a rally at Lekki in Lagos.
They defied police directive against holding a rally at the Lekki toll gate.
On Saturday morning, October 1, the supporters, known as the ‘Obidients’, were seen in mass number as they marched at the Lekki-Epe Expressway, chanting ‘Obi! Obidient!’
Sharing a video on Twitter, a tweep, @Nkemchor posted, “The police presence at Lekki did not stop youths from gathering. Very proud of this generation. If Lekki is your route join them!”
@eklepatiencetweeted, “All we want is a genuine leader that’s ready to serve Nigerians we’re not asking for too much nah just give us Peter Obi. Festac Lagos is Obidient.”
The PUNCH reported that the Lagos State Police Command had on Friday warned against any form of rally at the Lekki Toll gate, citing the court order that prohibited it.
According to tweeps, who shared images, the rally also seemed to be holding in other parts of Lagos, like Festac town, Surulere and the National Stadium.
Another tweep, @BensonIbeabuchi, tweeted, “Youths defy rainfall to come out in support of the Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi at Lekki, Lagos on October 1, 2022.

Well, my only concern in this is, as police order is been defied now, if one thing leads to another and someone is killed, he'll only be a loss to his loved ones. Stay safe people, don't die for any politician, none of them send your papa. It is always them and their families/political allies first.

Obi can’t win a general election across Nigeria .Let no man fool you . Obi gathering momentum will not only shortchanged ATIKU chances but also it will hand Tinubu the thief a victory we alll don’t want to see .PDP chances in the south East will be highly contested btw PDP and Obi LP , while Atiku may need those votes to beat the APC ,Obi will instead hand over that victory to the APC candidate thief Tinubu. How I wish our Igbo brothers would reason to form alliance with Atiku for one common goal and that’s to beat the APC group of bandits

THEY DID NOT STAGE ANY RALLY AT LEKKI TOLL GATE. THE PLACE WAS HEAVILY PROTECTED BY POLICE. THEY WERE JUST PASSING ALONG LEKKI. THE INFORMATION IS NOT TRUE.

Irrespective of this report, I was only talking generally. Nobody should die for any politician.
