Ahead of the 2023 elections, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Phrank Shaibu has warned that it is dangerous to hand over a sick nation to a sick leader.

He said that Nigeria was currently in a dire situation with every sector of the economy in deep decay and should not be handed nation to a sick president

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had while speaking at the 7th edition of Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit (KADInvest 7.0) on Saturday said the state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai “turned a rotten situation to a bad one.”

Shaibu in a statement issued Sunday, insisted that the Kaduna comment was one gaffe too many, saying that “Tinubu is tired and should go home and rest.”

He, therefore, called the attention of Nigerians to what he described d unsuitability of the presidential candidate of Tinubu for the nation’s highest office on account of a series of blunders he has made since he publicly declared his presidential ambition.

Shuaibu said: “When you look at the APC presidential candidate, you will see someone that is tired and weak. You have also heard the many gaffes that have come from him even before the kick-off of campaigns.

“The Kaduna comment is one gaffe, too many, and therefore unpardonable. You don’t have to be president at all costs; when you are tired, you go home.

“Nigeria is currently in a dire situation with every sector of the economy in deep decay; therefore, the nation cannot afford to hand over a sick nation to a sick president.”

Shuaibu noted that Nigeria deserves a fit leader, stressing that the office of the President is not for ailing people.

He said Tinubu has tried his best but he is now weak and tired and should be allowed to go home and take a deserved rest.

Shaibu lamented that it is only in Africa that persons who are unfit for offices on account of ill health insist on holding offices even at the expense of the wellbeing of the economy and the citizenry.

Very childish of Atiku and his team and indeed most nigerians. If Tinubu is really sick, the way you guys are claiming, it is very childish to make mockery of him because of his health issue. He has the right as a nigerian to contest for any political position he wishes. It is left for the voters to decide on election day, if they can trust the affairs of the nation in his hand.
If Aktiku and his team are telling us indirectly, we should not allow Tinubu to come to power because of his supposed health issue, and not because he is incapable of carrying the nation forward, then we should all come out massively to vote Tinubu to power. I think no nigerian should ever cast their vote for Atiku. He may be "healthy" but very CORRUPT and UNRELIABLE. His then Principal and former president of the nation made us to know this. For me, a corrupt person is equally an evil minded person. God forbid we have such person to rule nigeria again. Nigerian politicians should learn to play mature politics relevant for the development of the nation. Argue points with your opponents objectively and stop abusing yourselves and your families. We nigerians are not interested in all this rubbish. Tell us how you want to bring development to our great nation and smiles to the faces of our beloved people again. God save Nigeria
