hey dear poster there are lots of english people who cant write english but can speak well. i cant even speak ibo well but i can write well in ibo. english being our first language doesn't mean we should be eloquent or as fluent as british. one of the laws in england is to speak and understand english. it doesn't say you should speak it correctly at all time as long as your audience can understand u. many indians who have lived here all there life cant even speak well yet they relate with people and make so much money. i'm sure your one of them that speak them rubbish nigeria english and think your correct. and another thing. no one in this forum should expect me to write or speak with elocution cos i'm only a chemist so i talk in chemical terms just as pastor okotie talks in hebrew, greek and jewish and we all think it's english

After all no one is perfect in English language. With time and a little study it can be perfected. But waitoooooo What is the use of speaking Queens English when our people are still suffering..................

Its really pathetic.I suggest Mrs Jonathan be restricted to her dialect, then we get interpreters to save us from the embarrassment of
constant grammatical goofs by our "first lady"

Even if she doesn't read Naijapals, shouldn't someone close to her ought to have advised her on this issue? Our dear first lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan made another pathetic grammatical error on LIVE TV!!!!!!

"My husband, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and Sambo is a quiet people" - Pateince Jonathan on NTA Network News, 9pm, Tuesday Dec 21, 2010

ENGLISH is Nigeria's official language, is it worth having a first lady that cannot speak the official language??

You should be quiet when it come to condemnation u are not perfect  either english is not my first languege is a slave language baptizimal langage
