The Labour Party campaign council has defended Peter Obi, its presidential candidate, and David Oyedepo, founder of Winners Chapel, against claims of religious bigotry in a leaked audio clip.
Kenneth Okonkwo, a spokesperson for the LP campaign, dismissed claims the clip was fake, saying that the context of the conversation had been spun by “political criminals”.
Okonkwo added that it was the ruling party that had declared religious war on Nigerians and called on Nigerians to “fight this unconstitutional act of religious intolerance by APC”.
