Aisha Yesufu Blasts Muslims In Arewa Community After Video Of Al-Majiris Scampering For Food

Activist, Aisha Yesufu, has slammed Muslims in the Arewa community after a video of Al-Majiris scampering for left over food surfaced online.
A Twitter user shared the video showing young boys waiting patiently for a man to finish eating and afterwards, rushed to eat the scrums left in the plate.
Al-Majiris are children who leave their parents' houses to live with an Islamic scholar. There have been growing concerns for their welfare as they are mostly left unattended to and have to fend for themselves.
The Twitter user who shared the said video, blamed Northern politicians for the sad situation.

Reacting to the video, Aisha wrote;

‘’The whole of Arewa should be ashamed of itself. The whole Muslims in Arewa are a disgrace to Islam.
This is not the population that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) asked us to give.
We all have failed Islam!
As for the Mallams and Sheikhs and what have you. Shame on you all!''

I served in Maiduguri....when all was well. Still Almajiri system was there. They scamper and scrabble for left over food the same way in the bins. How do you think the rich get richer in the north? By keeping the poor uneducated and in perpetual penury. At the time, my gateman had 3 wives and each carry his food on a tray on her head down to the gate each evening to feed him. That is the way it has always been.
