honestly i just have to find out for sure. a lady in my church choir back at home was over thirty and she was in the youth section still being called a girl. a friend of mine got married at 22 and was immediately in the women's guild. funny i thought it was about age. females of above thirty dress up like omoge and are called 'girls'. while those in their twenties who have children are called 'madam'. can someone help me out here?

cant seem to see d joke in ur comment... so maybe all d guys who have 'hahaha' so far can enlighten me..

As per ur question I think its a status thing..obviously when a lady gets married she commands more respect than one who isnt married.  So in ur illustration the singleton @ 30 will still be referred to a young lady..'though not sure about the girl thing'..

But the married one will be cald Madam..as a sign of respect.

My thinkin anyway..i might be wrong.

where do u belong, lady or madam, am sure u're a lady.......40? , tell us

I also said pshycology cos in my class I once called my teacher Mr and he bluntly told me not to.
