Suspected Bandits Invade Oyo Community, Kill One

The Oyo State community of Ago Are, situated in the Oke Ogun area, was reportedly invaded by armed men suspected to be bandits over the weekend. During the attack, one person was tragically killed.

Confirming the incident, Adeagbo Fasasi Ademola, the Chairman of Atisbo Local Government, stated that he received prompt information about the attack. He mentioned that upon receiving the report, he immediately rushed to the scene with security agents to assess the situation.

According to Ademola, upon arrival, they discovered that a man had indeed been killed by the bandits who had already fled the scene. He expressed shock at the security breach in the community and assured that investigations into the incident were ongoing.

The chairman emphasized the need for vigilance among community members, urging them to promptly report any suspicious activities to security agents. He highlighted that insecurity is a nationwide challenge and called for collective efforts to address it effectively.

Ademola also mentioned the geographical proximity of Ago Are to the Benin Republic, emphasizing the importance of heightened security measures, especially along border areas, to prevent further incidents of insecurity.
