In a concerted effort to combat terrorism, violent extremism, and secessionist threats, the Defence Headquarters has initiated a nationwide search for 97 individuals believed to be involved in such activities.

Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, officially announced the list of wanted persons, along with their names and photographs, in a statement issued from Abuja late Friday evening, March 22.

The suspects, categorized as terrorists, bandits, and insurgent commanders, hail from various regions across the country, including the North East, North West, North Central, and South-East zones. Notably, no monetary reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of these individuals.

According to the breakdown provided by military authorities, 43 individuals are wanted in connection with banditry and related crimes in the North West region. Among them are notable figures such as Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, and Boka.

In the North East, which is grappling with the menace of Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, 33 individuals have been identified as wanted suspects. This group includes prominent commanders like Abu Zaida and Modu Sulum.

Additionally, 21 insurgents, militants, and violent criminals have been declared wanted in the North Central and South East regions. Notable figures in the South East include factional IPOB leader Simon Ekpa and Obiemesi Chukwudi, also known as Dan Chuk.

The Defence Headquarters urges the public to assist in providing information that could lead to the arrest of these suspects, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in ensuring the safety and security of the nation.

If you can arrest thousands of terrorists and their sponsors from the North Nigeria will be a better place. All others from South are mere freedom fighters.
