The Chairman of Nigerian indigenous carrier Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has raised the alarm that foreign carriers operating the Nigeria-UK route are allegedly conspiring to send Air Peace out of international operations by crashing airfares on the route.

There is an “unspoken alliance” among foreign airlines to use lower pricing to eject Air Peace from the Nigeria-London route, alleged a visibly displeased Onyema on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Tuesday.

“If they take out Air Peace prematurely, this country will pay dearly for it, 10 times over, billions will be lost, there will be another heavy strain on the naira,”

All of a sudden, other airlines are underpricing, and the plan is to take Air Peace out. If they succeed, Nigerians will pay 20 times over… Now Air Peace did this (brought down prices) & they crashed their prices from 17m to 5m, the dollar did not change! They were using the dollar as a reason to do whatever they were doing to us he said.

That is the usual reaction in business when a startup begins with a price war. This is normal. Dangote dropped the price of sugar so as to cripple the competition. Onyema should not try to play the 'victim card'. He said it himself that last government gave him a tax break of $30 million. He made serious profit from the evacuation of Nigerians flights. He should try and improve the domestic services. Charity begins at home. What is the percentage of his on time departures and arrivals on the domestic routes? At the end of the day, passengers want good service for their money.

Crying foul where there's none....all those while that you joined them in milking the country dry, nobody heard your noise. In fact he should be arrested for issuing a threat to a whole nation. He is not the national carrier and so, which regret is he talking about? Omo ole.

Do you just wake up and decide to write on issues you know nothing about? So you see no foul in the fact that foreign airlines were overcharging Nigerians to the tune of 12 Million per flight because we had none to call ours? Not until Air peace started plying that route and started charging what it should really be, before they brought down their prices. Where and when and how did Allen or Air peace join to milk Nigerians? This your write up is wack with a touch of bigotry.
