In a dramatic turn of events, security operatives have detained two individuals suspected of affiliations with the Yoruba Nation movement following their alleged involvement in the incursion of the Oyo Government Secretariat on Saturday morning.
Earlier reports from TORI detailed how a group of masked individuals forcibly gained entry into the Oyo State Government Secretariat, strategically positioning themselves at key locations within the premises.
Among those captured by security personnel were an elderly gentleman sporting grey hair and a middle-aged man, whose identity remains unconfirmed. Both were reportedly found in possession of Yoruba Nation flags and other related paraphernalia.
Eyewitnesses recounted how the suspects, adorned with charms and amulets, engaged in spirited chants in support of the Yoruba Nation cause. The elderly man, purportedly self-proclaimed as the "father of the Yoruba Nation," was particularly vocal in his expressions of solidarity.
Despite attempts by journalists to interview the detainees, security forces intervened, preventing any direct communication with the apprehended individuals.
Following their capture, both suspects were promptly transported to the Police Command headquarters for further interrogation and investigation.
