AT 31, he is still young to start. And he is now in SS2.

Mathematics:

Add 2 years to do SSCE + 1 year JAMB = 34 years.
Add 4 years in the University =     =     =  38 years. That means, he'll still be under 40 years. Even if he studies Law or Medicine, practising from the age of 40 is still a good practice and a successful man.

Who says it is too late to go to school? What is difficult is the "determination and readiness for the hardwork".

Mr. Man, go on with your studies.

Advice: 1. leave your intention open so that you can make a good choice of Course to study, than limiting it to your Islamic studies. I know this has to do with the environment u find yourself.

2. Read hard to improve your English language so that you will have wider choice of course of study.

3. Imbibe discipline, which u already has.

4. Avoid people, friends and relations who laugh at you and those who think u cannot make it. They are detractors.

5. Make new friends of encouragers.

May God grant you energy and wits to continue.

Good to seek knowledge but certainly not secondary school. He should have sought specialist vocation, say teacher training or something.
