In the wake of the recent hunger protest in Kano, the Kano Police Command has initiated a thorough house-to-house search operation aimed at recovering stolen items and apprehending those responsible for the looting.
The protest, which began peacefully, was overtaken by suspected hoodlums who launched a large-scale looting spree, targeting both private properties and government establishments.
So far, the police have arrested over 400 suspects and successfully recovered several stolen items. The ongoing search operations in neighborhoods such as Yakasai and Durumin Zungura have led to the retrieval of more looted goods from individuals involved in the thefts.
The Kano Police Command has expressed its commitment to holding the perpetrators accountable and ensuring justice is served. According to a police spokesperson, the operation will continue until all stolen items are recovered and those responsible for the chaos are brought to justice.
Residents are urged to cooperate with the authorities in their efforts to restore order and security in the affected areas.
