Team USA women's basketball team took another step towards their tenth Olympic gold medal by defeating Nigeria's D’Tigress with a score of 88-74.
A’ja Wilson was instrumental in the victory, leading with 20 points, while Jackie Young contributed 15 points.
The game started with a strong performance from Nigeria, whose robust defense kept the game close in the first half.
Despite this, Team USA managed to break away shortly before halftime, although Nigeria remained within striking distance.
In the second half, the US team, comprised of WNBA players, significantly extended their lead, at one point nearly doubling Nigeria’s score.
However, Nigeria’s persistent effort kept the game competitive until the final buzzer.
