Kenneth Okonkwo, an actor and politician, has criticized comedian and fellow actor Okey Bakassi for statements he made against former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

Kenneth took to Instagram on Saturday to respond to a video of Okey challenging Obi’s ability to defend Nigerians votes.

Okey had said, “What I want to ask is, Nigerians are galvanised to vote for you. Do you have the capacity to defend our votes?”

Kenneth responded to Okey’s comments with a lengthy Instagram post, accusing him of hypocrisy and mocking his career.

His caption partially said, “If this hypocrite believed PO had the capacity to defend our votes, why ask him?

“No wonder he was hiding under his mother’s bed during the campaign while we were risking our lives fighting for the votes, which were later on not defended.”

The actor also criticized Okey’s contributions to Nollywood, claiming, “First of all, in all his movie life, I am not aware of any movie where he played the lead role that ever made a hit.

It’s not unusual for failures to try to get traffic in their interviews by twisting facts about notable names. Little minds discuss people, and they do it dishonestly.”

Kenneth continued, “I don’t care what hypocrites and opportunists like Okey Bakassi say. Pretenders and sycophants say and do the worst at the back.”

Kenneth, one of the spokespeople for Peter Obi’s presidential campaign council, announced his resignation from the Labour Party last month and criticized Obi’s leadership style.

Okey criticized Kenneth’s criticisms about Obi, claiming that he had never won an election and hence had no right to criticize Obi’s abilities.

He asked that Nigerians are ever ready to vote but that can the vote be protected after voting. Every Nigerians might be willing to know.
Who's the hypocrite here? Or is it not you who resigned from the party supporting PO and went on to insult him instead of resigning peacefully.
