Police officers from the Ebrumede Division in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, have arrested six individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping. The arrest also led to the recovery of a ransom totaling N2,344,000 and several stolen mobile phones.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, revealed this development during a press briefing in Asaba.

"Acting on credible intelligence, operatives from the Ebrumede division, while on patrol, intercepted a tricycle carrying six passengers," Abaniwonda said. "The suspects, upon spotting the police, attempted to flee but were swiftly pursued and apprehended."

Upon searching the suspects, officers recovered N2,344,000, believed to be part of the ransom paid for the release of kidnapping victims. Additionally, several mobile phones, suspected to have been stolen from their victims, were found.

The commissioner emphasized that further investigations confirmed the money and phones belonged to the suspects' kidnapped victims. The police continue to investigate to bring justice to the victims.
