The Nigerian Army has detained a woman, Grace Markus, who is alleged to have acted as an informant for kidnappers operating in Taraba and Benue states. Markus is accused of facilitating multiple abductions, including the recent kidnapping of one Malam Saidu in Vesee, a community in the Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to a statement released on Saturday, September 7, by Captain Oni Olubodunde Markus, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 6 Brigade, Markus is suspected of working closely with a notorious kidnapper known as Chen, who has been terrorizing border communities in both states. She allegedly provided vital information to aid their criminal activities.
