The Enugu State Police Command has apprehended a 22-year-old suspect in connection with the vandalism of cables at a telecommunications mast located in the Naira Triangle area of Enugu metropolis. The arrest was confirmed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement issued on Friday.
According to Ndukwe, police operatives from the Thinker’s Corner Division acted promptly upon receiving a distress call on Wednesday, leading to the suspect's capture. The operation resulted in the recovery of several lengths of vandalized cables, although their total value has yet to be determined.
Additionally, the police recovered various tools allegedly used in the crime, including a plier and a screwdriver. Ndukwe stated that the suspect would be charged in court once the ongoing investigation is completed, underscoring the police's commitment to addressing criminal activities in the area.
