The Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended two suspects, Abubakar Ibrahim and Isah Ayuba, in connection with the abduction and murder of Felicia Namkywa, a local petty trader. The arrests were made by police detectives from the Obi Division following a report of the trader's disappearance, which lasted several days without any leads.

In a statement released on Sunday, Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ramhan Nansel explained that the investigation began after family members reported Felicia missing. Initial inquiries revealed that she had been lured into a trap by one of the suspects, who owed her 40,000 Naira. The suspect had called Felicia under the pretext of inviting her to buy grains at a nearby Fulani settlement.

“Unknown to her, there was a sinister plan to take her life and dispossess her of her business capital,” Nansel stated.

During questioning, both suspects confessed to abducting Felicia, taking her into the depths of the forest where they strangled her to death. They then disposed of her body in a swamp and stole 555,000 Naira in cash that Felicia had on her.

Following their confessions, the suspects guided police operatives to the location where the victim's remains were found. The police have since intensified efforts to address the alarming trend of kidnappings in the region and ensure the safety of residents.
