In a significant drug bust, Usman Grace Khadijat Olami, a Nigerian-Canadian nurse, was arrested on October 4th by officers from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The arrest took place during the clearance of Air France passengers arriving from Toronto, Canada, via Paris.

While inspecting her luggage, NDLEA officers discovered an alarming total of 70 parcels of a substance known as Canadian Loud, which is a highly sought-after synthetic cannabis. The confiscated drugs weighed approximately 35.70 kilograms.

During her subsequent interrogation, Olami reportedly claimed that she had traveled to Nigeria to meet her boyfriend, who had instructed her to transport the large consignment of the illegal substance. The case highlights ongoing concerns about drug trafficking routes between Nigeria and other countries. NDLEA officials are expected to conduct further investigations into the matter as they work to combat the growing issue of drug smuggling in the region.
