Renowned Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Omoni Oboli, has shared a shocking story of how she lost a movie role after refusing to kiss a film director during an audition. Oboli recounted the incident during an interview with comedian AY on the *Glasshouse Show*.
The actress explained that the uncomfortable encounter occurred shortly after she returned to Nigeria from a break abroad, where she had been raising her children.
"One director asked me to kiss him at an audition, and I couldn’t understand why he would do that," Oboli said. "I asked if this was part of the audition, and he claimed it was, but I didn’t see any reason to kiss the director when we weren’t even on set."
She added that after refusing the inappropriate request, she did not get the role she had traveled for, ultimately returning home without the part.
Oboli’s revelation has sparked conversations about the challenges actors face in the industry and the need for more professionalism in Nollywood.
