
The Borno State Police Command has successfully apprehended six individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping and armed robbery across Magumeri and Konduga Local Government Areas. According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Daso, the suspects were captured in a covert operation on October 25 in Chingowa Village, Konduga.
The statement detailed that the police recovered a pump-action gun, a live cartridge, and ₦2,637,000 in cash. The suspects allegedly used the guise of "tax collection" to extort funds from villagers in the area.
The apprehended individuals include Modu Bindimi, 26; Koso Modu Gana, 24; Kassim Bulama, 27; Isah Muhammed, 21; Zarami Fantami, 22; and Modu Bunu, 24. During questioning, they reportedly confessed to a series of armed robberies, kidnappings, and extortion schemes targeting local residents.
ASP Daso stated that further investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will face charges in court. The Commissioner of Police, CP ML Yusufu, commended the public for their cooperation and encouraged them to continue reporting suspicious activities through emergency numbers provided by the command: 0806 807 5581 and 0802 347 3293.
