Nollywood actor Yul Edochie recently responded to the advice he has been receiving to keep his marriage off social media. His response came after his brother, Linc Edochie, shared the family’s perspective on Yul’s second marriage to actress Judy Austin in a recent interview.
Linc highlighted their father's stance, which advocates for maintaining privacy in marital matters.
Following the interview, which quickly gained public attention, Yul addressed the advice directly. In a social media post, he acknowledged the widespread suggestions but defended his decision to share aspects of his personal life online, implying that he would continue to engage with his followers on his own terms
The actor pointed out that even couples who keep their relationships private still end up divorced, then criticized those who judge his personal life, saying many of them have their own unresolved issues.
He sarcastically questioned whether they were the ones funding his internet data, dismissing their opinions, stressing that if he decides to post his wife 100 times, it is nobody’s business.
Yul Edochie told his “advisers” to “hug a transformer” and expressed that people seem to thrive on others’ misfortunes, even finding satisfaction when people pass away.
“Ndi keep your marriage off social media, Kwenu! Ndi ala. You wey hid your marriage inside the house, you no still divorce? Your wife no leave you? Psychos. everybody na advice for social media. Your own life go dey scatter, you no fit fix am but you sabi advise other people.
“If I post my wife one million times on my page, how e take concern you? Na you buy me data Abi na your wife I post? Idiots.
“The one Wey dey sweet una na to wear black gather for person burial. One minute silence. The person go turn hero. But when the person is alive, being happy, his happiness goes dey pain una. Thunder fire una. If my post dey offend you, hug transformer,” he wrote.
