I have not seen him for the past 15 years and I have not spoken to him for the past six years because I do not even have his number, let alone contact him, and his mother has refused to give me the number. The sister, Diana, also says she does not have the number. Dis cannot be true.

However, what he is doing now can't justify what the dad did to him in the past. The mother in question have more or less to essien's actions and need to slow it. With the level of exposure and wealth attained i really didn't expect this from essien. Micheal esseien would definately have his reason, i'm sure his coach would have asked him, his friends and fellow team mates would have asked him, the chelsea management team would have been all aware.
Someone that abandoned his own son with the mother since he was 2 years old, someone that never for once paid his school fees or send money to him throughout his schooling days, do we all know what the mother have gone through for Micheal and his siblings, do we all know if James essien, his father, have at a time told his mother that she bore him bastards and useless children.
I dont know what it is but pls dont judge by what the dad is now saying, pls for God sake.
We should please beg Micheal and his mom to forgive and forget what this man has done and please help him stay comfortable for the few years he have left.

Giving that this guy is on top of his game in every aspect, fame, money and all that, it makes no sense to me that he won't let go of his past hurt. Obviously there is more to the story, by his father's admission - he wasn't there for the boy when he needed him most irrespective of his sugar-coated flimsy excuses:

We all can blame the guy all we want but the truth still remains, you reap what you sow. Make a monster out of your child - you deal with it till he gets some validation to get over his or her anger. Though am not in anyway condoning his act, but its good to see the truth for what it is. I hope he makes things right with his father before its too late else history will repeat itself. Never abandon a child. Hint hint!! REMEMBER THE 15YR OLD GIRL THAT CALLED HER FATHER USELESS??
