If you Nigerians hate gays so much then leave and go to another country because they are there for good and to stay. You are all running your mouths about what you would do to them because you refuse to accept that they live amongst you. If you so much as have the nerve to stand up against them, the least you all can do is a demonstration and in time it will be over and they will still be there and living fine.

No word for homosegxwality in Igbo, Yoruba, Urohbo etc. But Hausa has it! That means it must have existed in a culture in Nigeria. No matter what, think it isn't cute.

Sir, I've read most of your comments, and I'm led to assume that you have a clue about God, if you do then my following comments should be considered, but if you don't, I beg you to still consider the comments/passages below. Thank you sir.

The Bible specifically says in the book of Leviticus 20:13 And if a man lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. The same punishment is applicable to adultery in the days of moses. The red word shows how abominable it is.

The Bible specifically says in the book of Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: For even their women did change the natural use into which is against nature.

Subsequently, You speak intelligently, and I can tell that you're enlightened. Thus, it may be that you are enlightened about Sodom and Gomorrah. He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives, and gross immorality (homosegxwality).

Genesis chapter 19 records the two angels, disguised as human men, visiting Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot (Abraham's cousin) met the angels in the city square and urged them to stay at his house. The angels agreed. The Bible then informs us, "Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom — both young and old — surrounded the house. They called to Lot, 'Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.'" The angels then proceed to blind all the men of Sodom and Gomorrah and urge Lot and his family to flee from the cities to escape the wrath that God was about to deliver. Lot and his family flee the city, and then "the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah — from the LORD out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities..."

In light of the passage, the most common response to the question "What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah?" is that it was homosegxwality. That is how the term "sodomy" came to be used to refer to anal sex between two men, whether consensual or forced. Clearly, homosegxwality was part of why God destroyed the two cities. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah wanted to perform homosegxwal gang rape on the two angels (who were disguised as men). At the same time, it is not biblical to say that homosegxwality was the exclusive reason why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were definitely not exclusive in terms of the sins in which they indulged.

Ezekiel 16:49-50 declares, "Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me..." The Hebrew word translated "detestable" refers to something that is morally disgusting and is the exact same word used in Leviticus 18:22 that refers to homosegxwality as an "abomination." Similarly, Jude 7 declares, "...Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to segxwal immorality and perversion." So, again, while homosegxwality was not the only sin in which the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah indulged, it does appear to be the primary reason for the destruction of the cities.

Those who attempt to explain away the biblical condemnations of homosegxwality claim that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was inhospitality. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah were certainly being inhospitable. There is probably nothing more inhospitable than homosegxwal gang rape. But to say God completely destroyed two cities and all their inhabitants for being inhospitable clearly misses the point. While Sodom and Gomorrah were guilty of many other horrendous sins, homosegxwality was the reason God poured fiery sulfur on the cities, completely destroying them and all of their inhabitants. To this day, the area where Sodom and Gomorrah were located remains a desolate wasteland. Sodom and Gomorrah serve as a powerful example of how God feels about sin in general, and homosegxwality specifically.

I hope you understand, but if any further question, I will be very grateful if you could ask, and I'm sure by God's grace, you'll find your answer.  Thank you so so much.

The Bible has long been used by society to discriminate against, and persecute gays and lesbians. Careful study, however, reveals that while the Bible does condemn homosegxwal and heterosegxwal cult prostitution, it says nothing about loving committed homosegxwal relationships. Jesus himself said nothing about homosegxwality, which leads many to believe it was not one of his main concerns.

Unfortunately, many passages from the Bible are often taken out of context, or interpreted without consideration for the cultural aspects associated with the time period in which they were written. To emphasize this point, consider the following sentence: "He was such a neat man." In order to understand the writers meaning, you must consider the time period in which it was written. If this sentence were written in the 1900's it would be assumed that the word "neat", was a reference to the man's tidiness. If it were written in 1996, however, the word "neat" could be interpreted to mean both tidy, or the presence of admirable qualities.

Many versions of the Bible exist. Each reflects the limited scientific knowledge, personal beliefs of its translators, and the social beliefs of the time period in which it was translated. Personal biases, and societies prejudices have unavoidably distorted the Bible's many translations. In addition, it is sometimes difficult to find a current word that accurately defines the Hebrew or Greek term in question. Unfortunately, this has resulted in the mistranslation of some of the more ambiguous text contained in the Bible.

The Story of Sodom- Genesis 19:1-25

Quote
Many people carelessly proclaim that God destroyed the city of Sodom because of homosegxwality. A careful look however, reveals that this is unlikely.

Two angels were sent to Sodom by God, where Lot, Abraham's nephew, persuades the divine travelers to stay in his home. It is important to note that travelers depended on the kindness of strangers. Ancient hospitality codes required people to offer food, shelter and protection to people who were traveling. Without these codes travel would have been difficult, if not impossible.

After the Angels ate and were preparing for bed, all of the people of Sodom converged on Lots home, demanding that the angels come out so that the towns people might know (rape) them. In an effort to protect his guests, Lot denies the angry mob access to the angels, but offers his two virgin daughters instead. This suggests Lot knew his neighbors to be heterosegxwal. The townspeople refuse, and charge at Lot in an attempt to gain access to the angels. At this point the angels pull Lot back inside the house, and render the angry crowd blind so they can not find the door. The angels then warn Lot to gather his family and leave the city because it will soon be destroyed.

Much confusion over this passage has to do with the phrase to know them. The Hebrew word yadha (to know) has several different meanings throughout the Bible. In most cases it means to "have thorough knowledge of." In many cases it means "to check the credentials of", and in some cases may mean to "have sex with". In this case, however, it is clear that the townspeople wanted to harm the strangers, and because of ancient hospitality codes, Lot felt compelled to protect his guests. The townspeople wanted to perform an act of violence by molesting the angels, a grave violation of ancient hospitality codes.

Homosegxwal rape was not uncommon. Kings of conquered tribes were sometimes raped by the invading army as the ultimate symbol of defeat and humiliation. The men in these armies were not homosegxwal, they were heterosegxwals performing an act of violence. Never in any culture has more than a minority of the population been homosegxwal, and it is unlikely that all of the men in these armies or all the men of Sodom were gay.

Unfortunately, some people have focused on rape as a segxwal act, rather than an act of violence, and have missed the point completely. The reason for Sodom's destruction is made clear in Ezekiel 16:48-50. According to Ezekiel, the sins of Sodom were pride, laziness, being inhospitable, neglecting the needs of the poor, greed, and idolatry (the worshipping of idols). Nothing about homosegxwality is mentioned, nor is it mentioned in any other passage of Scripture which refers to the account of Sodom.

Sir, Please consider again, the following below;

Matthew 19:4 "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female.  Mark 10:6 "But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.'

In Genesis 2 "Male and female created he them."  God made the woman for the man, and thus he has shown us that every son of Adam should be united to a daughter of Eve to the end of the world. See on 1 Corinthians 7:3 (note).  The bible also states in Ephesians 5:31 that "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."

Note the underline word "and mother". This is the institution God Himself, created and intended, that the man, and then the woman for the man. The man as the husband and father, the woman as the wife and mother. Now ask yourself, if you had no mother, would you exist? Man has decided to furnish his own idealogy and redefine the institution that God has already established right from the beginning of creation. In otherwords, insinuating that God's creation was not perfect. God is PERFECT. His ways are perfect. Anyone, and I repeat anyone, who tries to justify or excuse the act of homosegxwality, I tell you the truth you are only granting yourself an excuse to invite God's wrath. Yes, He is very patient, but when His hands fall on you, it is a terrible thing. This is an undebatable subject. God's ways are perfect, He created the man and He intended that the man and the woman be made for each other, and not a man for a man. AND THAT IS PERFECT. AND THAT IS FINAL.
