Now does marriage takes place in a court in Nigeria or is it a misuse of terminology?
A court is a place where disputes are settled and its relationship with marriage is that it is the place where divorce is pronounced!
Marriages are celebrated in civil status registration centres which are local councils.
Please am I wrong?
You are right, I think people always mistake that civil status registration office as court, just because some people will come out there without having a proper white church wedding to celebrate it.
