Boko Haram plots Assassination of Vice President Sambo and five others.

Boko Haram, the Nigeria based Islamist militant group plans to kill Vice President Namadi Sambo, Governors Sule Lamido,of Jigawa State, Babangida Aliyu of Niger State and former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau.

The Emir of Zazzau HRH Shehu Idris and former Speaker, House of Representatives, Aminu Masari are also on the list currently being analyzed by the State Security Service, SSS in Abuja.

In a recorded message by a spokesman of the group whose name was not mentioned, the sect called them the targeted top Northern Politicians non-believers and “hypocritical muslims who connive to do harm to Islam and Muslims.”

The Boko Haram spokesman in the recorded message spoke in Hausa and Arabic declaring that their mission is to fight social injustices perpetrated against Muslims in Nigeria.

While the sect accused Governor Lamido of working for President Goodluck Jonathan to secure victory at the April Presidential elections, the Emir of Zauzzau, the group said, connived with with dubious people to cheat Islam.

Boko haram, has issued a list of prominent Nigerians it might likely attack, Times of Nigeria reports.

The hit list, which was said to have been obtained on Monday, was sent to the State Security Services in a recorded message format.

Although, the source of the report which has Vice-President Namadi Sambo topping it could not be verified but SSS operatives are currently analyzing the message.

The spokesman added that not only would the sect kill non-believers, but “also hypocritical muslims who connive to do harm to Islam and Muslim.”

Other name, which featured on the list, is former Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau. His “sins” were not listed.

To me, this is a simple case. Since there is Sharia law system, islamic banks being instroduced and Sharia law courts. Let these people go their separate ways. Let the north take a republic. This is exactly what happened between current Pakistan and India. They were one united peaceful country, but when religious fanatics came, Pakistan went their way and India remains peaceful. Let the north practice what they believe and let there be freedom of worship for non muslims in that land. If the non muslims can't stay, they can relocate.

This has clearly turned to politics instead of the misleading claim of fighting for the course of Islam. Boko Haram should drop their weapons cos their end including that of their sponsored and cohorts is close.
