Carlos Tevez could make a shock move to Al Wasl - with Diego Maradona eager to put an end to the striker's nightmare in Manchester.

Tevez held meetings with City this week as part of their investigation into why he apparently refused to play in their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

The Argentina international, who moved to City from Manchester United in 2009, is currently suspended from the club and Roberto Mancini says he will never pick the troublesome star again.

So it appears Tevez has got his wish to leave Manchester and he could start a new life in Dubai, with Argentine legend Maradona eager to sign him.

Tevez, 27, has flown home to Argentina to be with his family and Maradona is keen on speaking to him while he is away from the UK.

Maradona, who became Al Wasl manager earlier this year, is desperate to turn his new side into the best in the United Arab Emirates League as the club has not won the title since 2007.

And backed by wealthy investors, Maradona is confident he can put together a package that would entice Tevez to Dubai.
